Romualdez: Gov't, oil firm executives to track down answers for rising oil-based commodities

Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez promised to propose arrangements that will assist with taking care of the country's concern with oil cost climbs in a planned consultative gathering with large oil players on Monday.

In an explanation on Sunday, the House Speaker said that the public authority would be able to "split the difference" by offering a survey of the extracted charge on oil and oil-based commodities.

"On our part in the public authority, we can think twice about maybe what we can at first proposition is a potential survey of extract expense or worth included charge oil and oil-based goods. This is a decent spot to begin," he said, adding that the arrangement might come from oil organizations and government offices' participation.

The possibility of suspending the collection of excise taxes and persuading manufacturers to postpone the imposition of higher prices on basic food commodities as a result of rising oil prices are among the measures that he intends to outline.

Romualdez said that the normal visitors of the gathering are heads of the House Board of Trustees on Energy and the Branch of Energy authorities.


Authorities from privately owned businesses were likewise welcomed to go to the conversation to be held at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
